He was predeceased by: his daughter Marla Jayne; his grandson Benjamin Joseph Lamontagne; his brother Victor Raymond Lamontagne; his parents, Leo Joseph Lamontagne and Clemence (Dumont); and his parents-in-law, Norman Jane and Ruby (Wilson).

He is survived by: his wife Norma (Jane); his son Paul (Lisa Hrabachuck); his grandsons, Evan (Erika) and Mackenzie (Brenna); his daughters, Lea Kushner (Dennis) and Michele Taillon (Michael); and his grandsons, Sam, Jake, Rennee and Emett David.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Parish Cemetery or the Wawota Community Cemetery in memory of Denis.
