He was predeceased by: his parents, Jock McCubbing and Victoria McCubbing; his brothers, Leonard McCubbing (Joan) and Don McCubbing; his brother-in-law Norman Sword; and his grandson Chad McCubbing.

He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Cynthia Koziar (Dennis), Bradley McCubbing (Kathy), Grant McCubbing (Sam), Mitchell McCubbing and Travis McCubbing (Tammy); and his siblings, Lucy Sword, Shirley McIssac, Bob (Faye) and Edward McCubbing (Shirley). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
