He was predeceased by: his parents, Pius Koenig and Margaret Koenig; his parents-in-law, Rose Meier and Leo Meier; his daughter-in-law Janet Koenig; and his siblings-in-law, Bernie Lang, Bill Wiseman, Lawrence Meier, Peter Greenwald, Ann Greenwald and Pauline Behnke.
He is survived by: his wife Lucy; his sons, Michael (Laura, family: Ryan, Levi), Derrick (Cara, family: Jaidyn, Rowan, Sam), Tracy (Laurie, family: Linden, Jaxson, Miley) and Darcy; his siblings, Deanna Wiley (Willard) and Larry Koenig; and his siblings-in-law, Augustine Meier (Micheline), James Meier (Alma), Ed Behnke, Leona Meier, Rose Lang Froese (John) and Loretta Wiseman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A prayer was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church (201 5 Ave, Unity, SK S0K4L0). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
