He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Hugie and Katherina Hugie; his son-in-law Alvin; his brother-in-law Albert; and his brothers, Charlie, Frank and Artie.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Wagner; his sister Marion (Albert); his sisters-in-law, Wilma (Artie) and Mary (Charlie); and his children, Deborah (Alvin), Denise (Ken), Donelda (Basil), Dean (Beata) and Don (Zora). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and extended family.
