He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Rutherford Black and Mary May Black (Caithness); and his siblings, Perce, Jack, Wallace, George, Isabelle (Bert Bailey) and Roy.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Caroline Schweitzer; his sons, Lyle (Fay), Wayne (Betty) and Keith (Denise); and his siblings-in-law, Arnold Schweitzer (Jenny), Erwin Schweitzer (Betty), Josephine Moors (Bert) and Loraine (Orville).
