He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Shelstad (Reid) and Otto Shelstad; and his sister Viola Hornung. He is survived by: his sister Pearl Solanik (Wilf); his nieces, Nancy Fox (Larry), Deborah Hapke (Albert) and Sandra Burrell (Tim); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Angela Hapke (Brad), Patrick Fox, Daniel Fox (Desi Rae), Carlina Hapke (Justin), Chris Hapke (Ashley), Kendra Hapke (Julie) and Brittany Burell; and also Terry Solanik. He is also survived by 7 great, great nieces and nephews.
