He was predeceased by: his former wife Marjorie; his siblings, Jim, Scotty, Irene, Kay and Margaret; his stepson-in-law Barry Beisel; and his great grandchild Ethan Donaldson Elder.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his sister Evelyn; his children, Les Maalerud (Brenda) of Kamloops, BC, Carl Maalerud (Dawn) of Piapot, SK, Garnet Maalerud of Calgary, AB and Carol Bitschy (Keith) of Lethbridge, AB; and his stepchildren, Gladys Beisel, Robert Donaldson (Bonnie), Andrew Donaldson (Lorie), Iris Donaldson and Darren Donaldson. He is also survived by 4 children, 5 step-children, extended family.
