He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Gillam and Geraldine Gillam; his father-in-law David Ferguson; and his brother-in-law Ricky Ferguson. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gillam; his sons, Christopher Gillam (Megan) and Dustin Gillam; his grandsons, Isaak Gillam, Matthew Gillam and Lucas Gillam; his stepgranddaughters, Rihana Laking and Nyla Laking; his mother-in-law Carol Ferguson; his siblings, Wayne Gillam and Lynda Kimball (Bob); and his brother-in-law Michael Ferguson (Hilda). He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
