He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin McDonald and Caroline McDonald; his stepmother Edith Cheney; his parents-in-law, Aloysius and Johanna Lingnau; his siblings, Cecil McDonald, Ivan McDonald, Lloyd McDonald, Harvey McDonald and Mabel McCracken; his granddaughter Lacey; his siblings-in-law, Catherine McDonald, Catherine Lingnau, Howard McCracken, Richard Wunderlich and Siegfried Lingnau; and his nieces and nephews, Kenny McDonald, Michael McDonald, Dale McCracken, Beverley Houk and Beth McDonald.
He is survived by: his wife Christel Lingnau; his sons, Neil McDonald (Barb), Calvin McDonald (Sandra) and Brent McDonald; his grandchildren, Corey McDonald (Jolene), Blane McDonald (Chelsie Fruson), Ian McDonald (Emily), Kelsey McDonald (Justen Gabriel), Brooke McDonald and Brody McDonald; his great grandchildren, Quinn, Hannah, Wyatt, Scotlyn, Bennett, Brennley and Brixton; his sister Gladys Wunderlich; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce McDonald and Hilda Solie (Howard).
