It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irene Shiels (Swift Current, Saskatchewan), born in Tompkins, Saskatchewan, who passed away on July 15, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Smith and Alice Smith; her siblings, Doris, Reg and Clifford; her husband Peter Shiels; and her stepgrandson Jason Stern.

She is survived by: her daughter Karen Stusrud; her grandchildren, Shantell (Donald) and Marlen (Aimee); her son Ken Shiels; her grandchildren, Kody (Alissa), Kara and Kurt; her son Rob Shiels (Jan); her grandchild Kenda (Kurt); her daughter Fran Marlin (Kevin); her granddaughters, Krista (Kelly) and Kayla (Kole); her great grandchildren, Ashleigh, McKenzie, Brett, Rissa, Ally, Taylor, Brendan, Ivy, Myles, Ava, Harper, Bohdi and Adley; and her sister-in-law Elsie Smith. She is also survived by her many nephews, nieces and friends.
