She was predeceased by: her parents, George Fletcher and Ellen Fletcher; and her husband Gordon Melvin. She is survived by: her children, Crystal Lechelt (Aaron) and Randy Melvin (Amy); her siblings, Arlyn Fletcher (Gloria), Shirley Lamport (Ted) and Dave Fletcher (Bonnie); her parent-in-law Harold Melvin; and also Ella Melvin.

Memorial donations in memory of Elna can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
