He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Ernest Mathews and Irene Mathews; his sister Hazel Brogden; and his wife Judith Cardwell. He is survived by: his children, Michael Mathews, Jennifer Cannon (Rob) and Christine Roberts (Phil); his grandchildren, Chelsea Cannon, Katie Cannon (Cole Conn), Josh Cannon, Sarah Cannon and Eric Roberts; his great grandchild Arianna Vogt; and his siblings-in-law, Beth McCormick (Les) and Dave Cardwell.
