He was predeceased by: his son Ricky Hocher; his parents, Anton Hocher and Marie Hocher; his grandparents, Gustav and Anna Bail; his sister Walburga; his brother-in-law John Krywchuk; his parents-in-law, Irene and Josef Schoenstein; his sister-in-law Ingrid David; and also Jacob Heit.
He is survived by: his significant other Dorothea; his daughter Gail Hiar (Stewart); his grandchildren, Leora Hiar (Juan Estevez), Arielle Hiar and Rhys Hiar; his son Josef Hocher (Heather Smith); his grandchildren, Camryn Hocher and Brennen Hocher; his son Christopher Hocher (Carol Barsky); his grandchildren, Laurin Hocher and Chloe Hocher; his daughter Patricia Hill (Michael); his grandchildren, Peyton Hill, Rory Hill and Nicholas Hill; and his siblings-in-law, Renate Green (Ed), Ruth McMillan (Herb) and Fred David. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
