He was predeceased by: his mother Ernestine Wapass; his grandparents, Johnson, Philomene Starr, Joseph and Emily Wapass; his sisters, Maxine Wapass and Laverna Starr; and his aunts and uncles, Betty Wapass, Monica Wapass, Anthony Wapass and Paul Starr.
He is survived by: his father Douglass Starr (Eliza); his children, Trista Wapass and Blayze Wapass; his adoptive sons, Rodie Keenatch, Dezmond Keenatch, Kage Keenatch and Keron Keenatch; his close friends, Tonia Bowman and Cynthia Albert; his siblings, Loretta Starr (Ivan), Jackie Starr, Marilyn Wapass (Bernie), Harmony Wapass, Terri Knight (Randy), Ula Wapass (Corey Frenchman), Hilary Wapass, Omar Wapass, Tyler, Cory Wapass and Arlen Wapass; and his aunts and uncles, Anita Memnook, Sheila Ochipawao, Emma Starr, Karen Knight, Dale Wapass, Ranger Wapass and David Wapass. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A wake was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Chief James Okanee Memorial Centre (Thunderchild, SK S0M2W0). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chief James Okanee Memorial Centre, Thunderchild First Nation, Saskatchewan (Thunderchild, SK S0M2W0).
