He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Afseth and Violet Afseth; and his brothers, Jack Afseth (Verna), Don Afseth and Wesley Afseth (Margaret).

He is survived by: his wife Marg McConnell; his children, Barb Afseth, Barry Afseth (Alana) and Guy Afseth (Karan); his grandchildren, Taylor Afseth, Tanner Afseth, Cassandra Afseth, Ian Afseth and Spencer Afseth; his brother Bill Afseth (Sharen); and his sister-in-law Helen Afseth.
