He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hessdorfer and Joan Hessdorfer; his parents-in-law, George and Regina Dowie; his sister-in-law Faye Dowie; his friend Donna Zelinsky; and his pets, Sitka and Levi.

He is survived by: his wife Maureen Dowie; his daughter Tina (Brent); his granddaughter Charley; his son Ward (Jaimie); his siblings, David (Joyce), Gerald (Beth), Wayne (Diane) and Gale (John); his in-laws, Pat (Sista Shirley), Dale and Carol (Jim); and his close friends, Kirk, Kelly, Carl and Wendy. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews.
