She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Shopland; her parents, Mildred Meyrick and Joseph Soyka; and her siblings, Murray Soyka (Dorothy), Armand Soyka (Monica) and Audrey Sayers.

She is survived by: her sister Louise Krug (Don); her niece Wendy Moyer (Bill); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Brett, Lindsay Lutes, Kurtis Krug (Leslie) and Tara Bond (Corey); her brother-in-law Ray Sayers; her nieces and nephews, Tim Sayers (Penny), Glen Soyka, Kimberley Zelinski and Cindy Moore; her friend Wylda Rushton; and also, Rachel and Michael Krug. She is also survived by in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to a Charity of your choice, in memory of Irene.
