He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Schellenberg and Louise Wiens; and his sister Gert. He is survived by: his wife Alice Bjornson; his daughters, Janette (Kim) and Karen (Scott); his grandchildren, Farrah, Jake, Joel (Jess), Alyssa (Brandon), Kade (Veronica) and Tim (Jennelle); his siblings, David (Maryann), Arnold (Phyllis) and Val (Mike); and his brother-in-law Fred (Betty Jean). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
