He was loved and cherished by many people including: his adoptive parent Desjarlais (Lavallee); his parents, Victor Desnomie and Helen Desnomie; his siblings, Christopher, Albert, Theresa, Helen and Donna; his son Justin Blacksioux; his grandson Tyson Kaiswatum; his wife Judy Blacksioux; his children, Tanya (Cheyanne), Christine, Evan and Erin; his grandchildren, Zachary, Kegan, Marcus, Cassidy and Hayleigh; and his siblings, Raymond, Jimmy (Brenda), Bradley, Joni (Terry) and Lisa (Brian). He was also cherished by grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A wake was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Piapot Band Hall. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
