He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus McKay and Edith McKay; his siblings, Helen, Rose, Alvin McKay (Buddy), Dennis McKay, Garry Toto (Odjoe), Sandra Kaiswatum, Allan Dufour, Conrad McKay, Faith McKay, Loretta McKay, Sherry McKay, Kate McKay, Cheryl and Dwayne; his close friend Terry Pasqua (Smallz); and the mother of his children Janice Cappo.

He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Cappo and Lance Cappo; his siblings, Warren "Gyp" McKay, Pearl Horvath (Joe), Thelma Towel and Janet Grant (Gordon); his sisters-in-law, Ronda McKay and Diane "Dee" Toto; his aunt Isabelle Keepness; and his cousins, Lorraine Cyr, Brenda Bellegarde and Darlene Bellegarde.
