Richard Ronald Bast Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Bast, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend at the age of 83. Richard was born and raised in Dilke, Sask. At the age of 18 he moved to Regina with his family. His first job was delivering bread door to door and from there he worked at Canadian Motors gas station serving customers before moving to the parts department. In 1960 he was offered a job managing Rad and Brake Service. Then in 1981 he opened his own business, BAST Radiator and Brake Ltd. Richard is survived by his wife, Marge, of over 60 years; children Brenda (Randy) Nicolle, Darren (Cathy) Bast, Brent Bast, Rhonda (Lud) Gieni and Allan Bast; grandchildren Charira Nicolle (Kirk Draper), Joel (Josie) Nicolle, Kylie Nicolle, Brianna (Ryan) Bastock, Janae (Ryan) Dumont, Danielle Bast (Mike Schienbein), Braun (Cloe) Tuer, Dallas (Devan) Tuer, Carly (Daryl) Bunnell; great-grandchildren Hayden Nidesh, Gemma Bunnell, Linden Bunnell, Kiah Draper, McKinnon Draper, Charlotte Dumont, Emma Shienbein, Nora Tuer and Miles Tuer; Richard's siblings; Rose Church, Bernie Selinger, Frank (Dorothy) Bast, Theresa Lipp, Christina (Andy) Zeigler, Fred (Cheryl) Bast, Joe (Karen) Bast, Tony (Kathy) Bast, Cathy Hensrud; in-laws Mary Bast, Mary Horvath, Anne Ursulan, Velma Matai, Sr. Helen Matai, Yolanda Eckel, John and Deanna Matai, Rose and Claude Desautels. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Richard was Predeceased by his parents Frank and Katherine (Schmidt) Bast; mother and father-in-law Frank Sr. and Theresa (Sich) Matai; sisters Lorraine Bast, Mary Vogt, Pauline Sigmeth, Josie Ziegler and brother Alfred Bast; in-laws Wendell Vogt, George Sigmeth, Tony Ziegler, Glenn Church, Ralph Selinger, Vaughan Hensrud, George Lipp, Violet Bast, Frank Matai Jr., Joe Matai, Sr. Carola Matai, Laureen Matai, Frank Horvath, John Ursulan.
