He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Liz"; his parents, Andy and Mary; his siblings, Carl, Edward, Henry and Elsie; and his sister-in-law Cynthia.

He is survived by: his nephew Terrance; his niece Donelda; his daughter Natalie Whelpton (Phil); his granddaughter Jordan Konya (Aaron); his pet Toby; his sister Matilda; and his sisters-in-law, Hazel and Irene. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
