He was predeceased by: his wife Marion; his son Robert Dwight; his brother Del; and his siblings-in-law, Faye, Dick Clarke, Harold Hillestad, Roy Hillstead, Bernard Polasek, Glenna Johnson, Fern Hillstead, Ken and Marlene Hillstead.

He is survived by: his son Doug (Geri); his granddaughter Sheri Stewart (Rob); his daughter Shauna Wall (Brad); his great grandchild Melissa (Stacy); his child Del (Carol); his grandchildren, Rory (Pam) and Nathan; his great grandchildren, Tony (Shelby), Lyle, Shay-Lynn, Doug, Isabella, Clara and Elliot; his siblings, Tom (Edna), Wayne (Roberta), Doreen Robertson (Bill) and Bev Clarke; and his siblings-in-law, Arlo Johnson, Morris Hillstead, Dorothy Hillestad and Eunice Polasek. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
