He was predeceased by: his parents, George Strong and Violet Strong; his stepfather Casey; his siblings, Bary and Margaret; and his brother-in-law Terry.

He is survived by: his wife Joy; his children, Karen (Brad), Kerry (Guillaume), Lisa (Danny), Doug (Jody), Kristen (Gord), David (Sandralyn) and Kendra (Jaime); his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jaylen, Logan, Marshall, Kayla, Ty, Alaura, Cole, Sam, Cassidy (Michael), Adam, Avia, Alysa, Avery (Luz), Myan, Edyn and Ellys; his extended family, Sheilla and Gary Jr.; his siblings, Shirley, Donna (Dennis), June (Doug), Carol, Art (Noella), Gordon (Cheryl) and David (Iris); and his siblings-in-law, Barb, Jim and Nelson (Pat). He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and his many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary may be made to the Pasqua Hospital Auxiliary or the Hospitals of Regina Foundation.
