He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Purvis and Bertha Purvis; his grandparents, Emma Chapman, Bill Chapman, Elizabeth Purvis and Archie Purvis; and his nephew Benjamin Wilson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Greg Purvis (Diana), Glenda Toms (Barry) and Jeff Purvis; and also, Lesley Wilson (Todd), Dustin Purvis (Samantha Matthewson), Jordan Purvis (Karisa), Jason Toms (Michelle) and Jackie Toms (Travis Thompson). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
