He was predeceased by: his father Frank Matai; his father-in-law Albert Hartl; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Grant and Franck Stangl. He is survived by: his wife Edith; his children, Cherie (Derrick), Russell (Serena) and David (Victoria); his grandchildren, Alexandra (Jesh), Kendell, Lauren and Ben; his mother Velma; his siblings, Irene (Garry), Pat (August), Dianne (Brent), Shirley (Garnet) and Murray (Judy); and his siblings-in-law, Larry (Elaine), Brad (Ada), Joan (Todd) and Laura. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
