He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Assoon and Joseph Kay; his brother Elvis Favel; his grandson Joel Jr.; his wife Lisa; and his children, Jarrin (Alvin), Justin (Bobbie-Jo), Jaylene, Janine (Corbin), Jesse, Joel (Justine), Blake and Rashaye.

He is survived by: his siblings, Topsy and Fernie; and his grandchildren, Tony, Jay-Boy, Bobby, Chels and John. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, extended family, and numerous lifelong friends.
