He was predeceased by: his parents, Estelle and Daniel; his brother Terry; and his son Peter. He is survived by: his wife Linda Lee; his son Stephen (Stella Sanderson); his daughter-in-law Jem; his close friends, Michelle and Rick Thompson; and his grandsons, Cliff, Danny and Calvin. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

“Sally and I want to express our condolences to Linda and family. I first met Cal at our winter home in Arizona where Cal invited me to join his golf foursome almost 30 years ago. We enjoy playing golf together until he left the park 10 years ago. He was very attentive "captain" and we enjoyed a lot of laughs on the course and off. He was also a gifted artist whose intarsia was admired by many. He also taught intarsia for many years. He will be missed,”
