He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Sr. Kowal and Anne Kowal (Bukszak); his parents-in-law, Lindsay and Eileen Hamilton (Rowden); and his brothers, Johnny and Walter Jr..
He is survived by: his sister Anne (Bukszak); his grandchildren, Andre, Ivan, Justin, Angela, Gille, Nadine, Lisa and Adam; his children, Andre, Justin, Nadine, Nancy (Gilbert Lavoie), Ivan, Angela, Gille, Jamie (Michael Jensen), Lisa and Adam; his siblings, Ellen (Thomas Bayer), Fran (Lino Giavedoni), Josie Yachetti, Ann Liebrecht and Steve Kowal; the mother of his children Evelyn Kowal; his nephews, Tommy Bayer and Bryan Kowal; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Barlow, Grace Kowal and Yvonne Kowal; his great-nephew Alexandros Stavrou; and also, John Liebrecht, Paul Yachetti and Ronald Barlow. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
