He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Fontaine and Claire Fontaine; his brother Paul; and his siblings-in-law, Esther Serhan (Bill) and Charles Lalonde (Sandy).

He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his child Sharleen (Dwayne); his grandchildren, Brooke (Tyler), Bree (Travis) and Lane (Becca); his child Laurie (Rick); his grandchildren, Blair (Kelly) and Justin (Brittney); his daughter Colleen; his grandchildren, Taylor and Connor; his daughter Patty (Clint); his grandchildren, Brody (Riley) and Jessica (Mallory); his child Reg (Connie); his grandchildren, Ryan, Tobi and Piper; his great grandchildren, Maverick Petit, Adria, Kellan Barzeele, Cadence, Tripp and Hayes Hewitt; and his sister Carmelle Zurowski.
