He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ironside and Margaret Ironside; his siblings, Andrew Ironside and Violet John; his grandparents, MahpeyaOmani and Joe Omani (Campeska); his great-grandparents, Anpetu Wasicu, John Sioux (Witahiyayewin) and Jane Desjarlais; and also Mary Semkiw.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Melvina Eagle; his brother Leo J. Omani; his niece Winnie Ironside (family: Leona Sutherland); his great grandchild Morin; his grandchildren, Fourstar, Goodvoice, Turner, Waditaka and Yahyahkeekoot; and also, Shirley, Violet and Ed Semkiw. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A wake was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Wahpeton Dakota Nation School. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
