He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Carlson and Florence Carlson; and his close friend Terry Bekolay. He is survived by: his siblings, Carol Lane (Steve) of Tisdale, SK and Dale (Glenda) of Norton, Kansas; his nieces and nephews, Liam Lane (Amanda), Maia, Rhees, Lief (Shannon) and Neysa Carlson; his aunt Alice Carlson; his cousins, Anna (Kevin), Nick and Elizabeth Bekolay; and also, Gabriel and Alastair Nicholson. He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in Jim's memory to SPCA Prince Albert, Rose Garden Hospice, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
