With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shania Custer in Pelican Narrows, Saskatchewan, born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, who passed away on December 15, 2021 at the age of 25. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Hilary Dawn Custer and Justice Highway; her grandparents, David Custer and Catherine "Hilda" Highway; her aunts and uncles, Crystal Custer, Margaret Sewap, Beverly Judy, Pierre Highway, Steven Custer, Edward Custer and Brendon Custer; and her cousins, Dale Custer, Merle Ballantyne, Estelle Cook and Loren Cook.
She is survived by: her mother Judith Custer; her adoptive son Ivan Sewap; her father Ovide Highway; her siblings, Daniel, Pierre (Iris), Lynda, Richard, Kaylee, Darcy Joe, Marissa (Shane) and Jaden; her grandparents, Sally Custer (Phillip) and Francis Highway; her godparents, Beverly Custer and Terry John Custer; and her aunts and uncles, Jack Custer (Sonya), Ronnie Highway (Daphne), Leeroy Custer (Cindy), Eileen Ballantyne (Walter), Beverly Custer (Roy), Thelma C. Ballantyne (Walter), Lorraine Custer and Loretta Ballantyne (George). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
