He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm and Theresa; his siblings, Carl and Hilda; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Maier and Frank Bokenfohr; and his nephew Gordon Bokenfohr.

He is survived by: his siblings, Paul, Raymond, Joe (Hazel) and Margaret.
