He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly Waskewitch; his son James Waskewitch; his parents, Peter and Madeline; his grandparents, Sam Waskewitch, Nancy Waskewitch (Gladue), Paul Lameman and Mary Lameman (Whitstone); his sisters, Christina Dillon, Jean Watchmaker and Dorothy Cardinal; his nephews, Clifford Dillon, Nelson Dillon and Anderson Watchmaker; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Waskewitch, Dora Waskewitch and Charles Dillon.

He is survived by: his children, Denise Waskewitch (Dave), Phyllis Buffalo, Jason Machinine and Noella Chief; his stepchildren, Leatha Machinine, Gail Machinine and Merle Machinine; his grandchild Darian Machinine; and his siblings, Percy Waskewitch, Joe Sr. Waskewitch, Lydia Harper (Willard), Shirley Waskewitch and Lelian John (Charlie). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces nephews and relatives.
