He was predeceased by: his grandson Coleman River Howard; his parents, Ezra Lewis Howard and Olive Lavina Howard (Thomas Derenowski); his grandparents, Fernando, Alice Howard, Robert and Rosely Howse; and his siblings, Herbert Lewis Howard, Roy Edwin Howard, Brian Albert Howard, Fay Gwendolyne Kratko and Ethel Shirley (Howard).

He is survived by: his son Ashley Tipiskaw Howard; his adoptive daughter Georgina Stanley; his grandchildren, Mathew Howard, Frankie Howard of Keestin Tipiskaw, A. J and Kanika Tipiskaw; his sisters, Lorna Best and Thelma Howard; and his close friend Dorothy Jack. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
