He was predeceased by: his parents, Afe Brown and Leta Israel; his stepfather Walter Israel; and his brother John Brown. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Brown; his sons, Joel Brown (Tammy), Paul Brown (Michelle) and Peter Brown (Jaime); his granddaughters, Amy, Ashley, Brittany Brown, Shayla, Alysha Peters, Joelle and Ireland Brown; and his great grandchild Nolan Peters. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
