He was predeceased by: his nieces and nephews, David, Tim, Maureen and Michelle. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Shaun Michael Horsman (Cortney) and Brenda Smith; his grandsons, Joseph Smales (Sara) and Adam; and his sister Betty Donais of Calgary.
