He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Helga Collum; his parents, Walter Opfergelt and Eileen Opfergelt; his stepchildren, Richard, Sam (Judy) of Tisdale, Bernice (Richard) of Canmore, Bryon of Grand Prairie, Donna (Dale) of Barrier Ford and Kevin (Kim) of Alameda; his siblings, Lois (Johnny Schmitz), Jack (Mary), Phyllis (Neil Pineau) and Audrey (Tony Hauser); his uncle Jack; and his aunt Audrey. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
