She was predeceased by: her husband Fred of Andrew's United Church; her parents, Mary and John; her grandparents, Josephine, Michael, Anastasia and Nickolai; and her siblings-in-law, Alice Boadway (Claude), Edwin McWilliams (Eleanor), Mary McTavish (Horace), Helen Headen (Herbert), Billie McBurney (Claire), Margaret McWilliams and Ruth Bryant (Eric).

She is survived by: her children, Angela, Pamela (Willie), John (Valerie) and Kent (Renata); and her grandchildren, Jaclyn (Florian), Shannon (Federico), Luke (Sonia), Maria (Tim), Kate (Laurent), Peter (Leanne), Patrick (Stephanie), Ania (Riley), Ali Marie and Kaley. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Sonia's memory may consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind), charities that were close to her and Fred's hearts.
