He was predeceased by: his son Mark; his parents, Mabel and John; and his siblings, Kay Jorgenson, Mary Zarembo, Vera Balon, Elaine Hindle, Ted, Elise Wittman, Mildred Wittman, George, Vicky Gorda and Florence Berjian.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Gorda (Cornell); his children, Darcy Nielsen (Gary), Mason (Yangisely) and Brent (Kimberly); his sister Irene Bachiu; and his stepchildren, Teresa, Laura, Ron and Bill Cornell. He is also survived by five grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
