She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Chastko of Minnedosa, MB and Nettie Chastko; her husband Harry Lys; and her siblings, Julie Chastko, Lloyd Chastko of Strathclair, MB and Tony Chastko of Calgary, AB..
She is survived by: her brother Kazmer; her children, Terry (Lenora) of Calgary, Patricia (Ed) of Moose Jaw and Bob (Pam) of Moose Jaw; her grandchildren, Katherine Russell (Jim) of Elkford, BC, Dr. Alexandra Stratton (Shawn) of Ottawa, ON, Emanuel (Michelle), Kennedy (Kristen) of Calgary, Matthew (Ashley) of Moose Jaw, Jordan (Britney) of Foam Lake, SK and Racquel (Taylor) of Moose Jaw; and her great grandchildren, Sierra, Trinity, Aspen Stratton of Ottawa, Isaac, Elliot, Jude Russell of Elkford, Lennon Wandler of Moose Jaw, Ella Lys of Calgary, Luka Lys of Foam Lake and Logan Lys of Calgary.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Moose Jaw Funeral Home (268 Mulberry Ln, Moose Jaw, SK S6J 1N4). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (625 5 Ave SW, Moose Jaw, SK S6H5W2).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's name can be made to the Moose Jaw UCWLC or alternately to u24.gov.ua to help support the Ukrainian people during this time of conflict.
