He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry and Lyla; his siblings, George, Thelma, Elsie and Lyla; his son-in-law Richard Sommerfeld; his granddaughter Nicole; and his great grandchild Chloe.

He is survived by: his wife Georgina Pilling; his children, Sandra Sommerfeld and Wayne Pilling (Lisa Wapass); his grandchildren, Michele Pilling (Chad Cole), Amber Fitzsimmons (Casey), Chelsea Dunlop (Ackerley), Steven Bellanger (Keanna) and Alli; his great grandchildren, Brooke, Lane, Carson, Baylee, Cora, Sage, Nora, Grayson and Eleanor; and his siblings, Irvine Pilling (Adel), Joe Pilling (Carol), Ken Pilling (Rose), Reta Rose (Albert) and Lee Pilling (Marlaene). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mervin Hope Hall.
