He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Unterschute and Eloise Unterschute of Melville; his wife Marge; his parents-in-law, Emil Rathgeber and Ruth Rathgeber; his granddaughter Tiffany Ortynski; his siblings, Garry Unterschute and Laraine Gelowitz; his brothers-in-law, Jack Miller, Ted Gelowitz, Doug McAuley and Robert Rathgeber; his niece Lorie Gelowitz; and also Vivian.

He is survived by: his children, Leanne Ortynski (Brad) of Crooked Lake and Brett Unterschute (Lacey) of Norquay; his grandchildren, Riley Ortynski of Regina, Logan Ortynski of Fenwood, Jasper, Declan and Kayce Unterschute of Norquay; his great grandchild Quinn Gauthier-Barrett of Strathmore, AB; his siblings, Yvonne McAuley of Regina, Garth (Elaine) of Edmonton, AB, Garnet (Pat) and Murray (Lynette) of Melville; and his brother-in-law Lorne Rathgeber (Carol) of Tie Lake, BC.
