He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludwig Maurer and Margaret Maurer (Bauer); his parents-in-law, Val and Caroline Litzenberger; his brothers, William and Fred; his sister-in-law Lillian Maurer; his nephew Bradley Maurer; and his nieces, Loni and Lana Gattinger.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen Litzenberger of Paul's Lutheran Church; his sons, Dale and Rodney; his siblings, Lorne Maurer, Florence Gottfried (Lorne) and Isabel Gattinger (Dick); and his sisters-in-law, Vera Maurer and Evelyn Maurer.
