He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Opoonechaw and Esther Opoonechaw; his siblings, Dean, Darryl and Tracy; his nephews, George Paul III and Raylon; and his niece Latisha.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Geena (Zack), Levi and Hannah; his stepsons, Dary and Colton; his siblings, Aaron, Dwayne, Cory, Donna, Maxine, Janice, Lyla, Leanne, Sonia and Alvina; and his godchildren, Chaz, Tiana, Mack, Reagan, Gilbert Jr., Allison and Chantelle. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and his grandchildren.
