It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ovide Opekokew (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan), who passed away on June 17, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Ovide was predeceased by: parents, Jules Opekokew and Marguerite Marie Opekokew; brother Antoine Opekokew; and nephew Joshua Opekokew. Ovide is survived by: siblings, John Opekokew, Norman Opekokew (Cecilia), Raymond Opekokew, Harry Opikokew (Freda), Delia Opekokew, Theresa Opekokew and Mary Rose Opekokew; uncle Jacques Iron (Jack); and godchildren, Sunday Weekusk, Tammy Iron and Trevor Iron. Ovide is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
