Elie was predeceased by: son Percy George; parents-in-law, Mary Jane and Antoine Gunn; daughter Tammy George; brother-in-law David Gunn; and also Anastasia George.

Elie is survived by: daughter Barb George (Richard); grandson Keith Currie (Elizabeth); great grandchildren, Keenan and Kado; goddaughters, Darlene George and Dorthy Misponas; and siblings, Flora Sankey and Gerard George. Elie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
