He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Pearl Kalyniuk; his wife Carol; and his children, Angela Fast and Kris Kalyniuk. He was also cherished by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was honored by Canadian Blood Services for his numerous blood and plasma donations and gave thirty years of his life as a volunteer with the Saskatoon Blades working as an usher.
