After high school, Sada was accepted into the Registered Nurse training program at Moose Jaw General in Apr 1939. Dedicated to her profession for 10 years, she then married Edwin in Feb 1945. Together, they returned to the family farm south of Leader and later moved to town, in 1953, where they built their home.
Sada was devoted to all her family. Her days were filled with keeping her home tidy, growing a large thriving garden and flower patch, babysitting for numerous children over the years, sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, Scrabble, reading, making puzzles and volunteering for the town and the Western Senior Citizens Home. Those fortunate enough would have received the treasured family Christmas letter that Mom started in 1964, a heartfelt tradition that added warmth and joy to the holiday season.
Marked by love, resilience and a vibrant spirit, Sada left a lasting, memorable impression on all who knew her or met her. Her presence will not end with her passing and she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
“And, in the end what we will remember the most is a beautiful heart and how it made us feel.”
A heartfelt thank you to all who inquired about her well-being and offered kind words during her passing. Special appreciation goes to the staff and residents of the Western Senior Citizens Home for their compassionate care over the years.
A service will be held Thursday, Dec 14, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Leader Community Center
Though Sada has departed this earthly realm, their legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May their spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
